COSY CLUB! Join me on zoom for Monday night’s NEW cosy club 9 – 10.15pm for 75 minutes of restful yoga to ease you towards sleep. We all struggle with sleep at certain times of life and sometimes this is consistent and frustrating, not to mention exhausting. I’ve spent a lot of time sending people to sleep over the years, sometimes at 9am! COSY CLUB is all about providing your body with the internal and external cues to help the process of getting ready for sleep – easing out physical tension through restorative yoga, then guiding our brain into a deeply restful state with yoga nidra.
From the comfort of your own home, I recommend doing the first 30 minutes of restorative phase next to your bed, and for part two, forty minutes of deep rest yoga nidra, getting in your bed and listening as you ease closer towards sleep. There’ll be a five minute break in between restorative and nidra to enable you to pop to the loo, kiss your children goodnight etc. You’ll be encouraged to move slowly, carefully, with low lighting, having already completed all you need to do before you get in bed. Cameras can be on/off, you’ll be on mute to prevent any snoring disturbing others! If you fall asleep, I’ve done my job! Book here.
A single session is £10 for 75 minutes, or sign up for the six weeks for £55. There is no recording. Partners/teenagers/wakeful children are welcome to join in at no extra cost. Book here.
Ideally, each person will need the following for each session, all ready before we begin. In restorative yoga, the more props the better as we want to be as comfortable as we possibly can.
Four – six pillows OR sofa cushions work brilliantly
Two-three blankets (duvet/quilt/big towels also work)
Two cushions
Pen and paper – sometimes things come to us that we don’t want to forget – keep it close by so you can write it down and let it go, no need to remember for the morning
An eye pillow if you have one – if not, a flannel or scarf warmed on a radiator can feel lovely!
Optional but lovely – hot water bottle, cosy socks, cosy layers! You definitely want to do this in your PJs, ready to roll into bed. Be sure to brush your teeth etc before we start so you can literally listen as you fall asleep.
Ideally you’ll be close to a wall/bed/chair which we may use as a prop at times too.
If you have any health concerns or are pregnant, please let me know in advance so we can ensure poses are suitable for you. We’ll be resting in each pose for up to 10 minutes. Book here or get in touch: katie@katiewheaterwellbeing.co.uk
