Hello, I’m Katie, CEO, Director, marketing, admin and everything to do with Katie Wheater Wellbeing! I can’t get through the morning without coffee and fresh air, and am a sucker for dark chocolate. I am passionate about women’s wellbeing and supporting you to find ease and nourishment to enjoy your life as much as possible.
My aim is to enable you to slow down, soothe body and mind, and connect with what you really want and need. On a lighter note, I can also help your tense shoulders (etc) relax, build strength and flexibility and help you sleep better.
My background is rather varied with a degree in marine biology (my first love), then a career in environmental PR, and a MSc in nutrition, I am not your usual wellbeing therapist! My first massage training was with Oxford School of Massage in 2012 and I continue to grow my CPD through Jing massage and Jenny Burrell Education.
In addition to massage, I am passionate about nourishing our bodies through nutrient dense food, throughout life, particularly for women and girls. As a nutritionist, mother and mid-life woman, my specific areas of interest are eating well to support women’s hormones (think perimenopause and puberty) and making simple swaps to and easy habits to integrate greater nutritional nourishment into your day.
My yoga training comprises:
Yoga nidra with James Reeves and further training with Melanie Cooper and Jennie Wadsten Sharma
Vinyasa yoga (200hr) with Everybody Studio in Oxford
Restorative and somatics with Laura Gilmore
Professional mentoring with senior yoga teacher and therapist Anna Taylor
My home is shared my husband, two children and two cats. In my spare time I love to be outdoors – walking, running, swimming, paddle boarding, gardening and watching wildlife. Yoga and yoga nidra play essential roles in my life.
